Size doesn't matter
This teensy weensy carrot was one of Mrs42's presents.
All year she has had to cope with a child with Asperger's and ADHD but with her guidance, ingenuity and attention and lots of hard work from her, the child, the parents and other children in the class, he's had a good year.
So ... why the tiny carrot? Well, this is the very first carrot from the child's vegetable patch at home ... and why is that significant? Well, children with Asperger's find it very difficult to read, understand and follow social situations and norms. This particular child finds it very hard not to need to go first all the time, but he has learnt through the year that (with some restraint and knowing he'll get his turn) he doesn't need to go first.
So, to give Mrs42 his first carrot is a pretty big deal.
Not that its going to make much of a stew :-)
