Loving Bradford
Long day today - early start and late finish, so a quick blip and bed.
Today I had to go into Bradford from the leafy edges of home and work. I love this city. I got to do some mentoring of a past trainee of mine Gareth, who works in the city. One of the things I love about Gareth is that he is so passionate about his work, for his patients and for his colleagues, if the world was had more Gareth's it would be way better place to be.
As for Bradford it is often remembered as the city of "the riots", "the fire", "the book burning", "the ripper", and so on. For me however and for many who work and live in this city we know it as the city that maybe better defined by how it responded to the riots and the fire. It is a city of great buildings and history, an amazingly diverse and rich community. OK it's not perfect but there is much to celebrate.
So here we have Lister Mill in Manningham, converted largely to residential now, but with other interesting bits too(jnot sure what that is going on in the right hand roof bits, maybe we have folks from outerspace moved into the city). These old mill buildings are one of the city's treasures.
So here's to Bradford and more Gareth's.....and here's to bed:-)
