Amaryllis II

In just a couple of days, the amaryllis has undergone a wondrous transformation see here From barely buds to this wide open display. The second blossom is a gift, and the two still in bud (all on the same stalk, mind you) are the icing on the cake. And there's a stalk/bud still to grow. Quite a lot of pleasure from a $5 investment several weeks ago.

A few weeks ago a neighbor gave me 10 amaryllis bulbs to plant in my garden. Squirrels got four (who knew they'd want such a snack?), but six are sending up shoots. She has lots of amaryllis plants in all colors so will be pleasantly surprised to see which ones I got.
