Antakya
WOW!
This is what summarises best how I feel about Antakya.
Here I visited the first Christian church and the first mosque on Ottoman grounds. This city is amazing due to its mixture of people of different religions as well as its very interesting history.
Also I had a great time strolling around the city and the bazar and got invited to have a cup of tea so many times that I stopped counting after a while. People here are really warm and welcoming.
My host Ozan was so nice to take me with him to his workplace in the morning to have breakfast, which has turned out to be an office that coordinates EU-programmes related to rural development in Turkey-great to talk with him and his colleagues and a great opportunity to see how EU-programmes are executed.
In the evenening Ozan and his colleagues took me to a massive dinner which I will never forget in my entire life...I guess I will have to come back to Antakya just for the food :-)
Great song, and so true:
