St John Maddermarket

Latest in the occasional series of Norwich Medieval Churches.

Close to the city centre market place, this may have been one of the churches mentioned in the Domesday Book. It has special memories for me as I have both lived and worked almost in its shadow in the (now distant) past.

An exhilarating cycle into the city for Christmas shopping, arriving as dusk fell. By the time I came back there were twinkling lights aplenty .... but not on the Marriots Way cycle path which was even more exciting in the pitch dark!
