Well, we've all got to start somewhere I suppose. Regardless of this fact - he was brilliant. He even managed not to drool by swallowing his saliva before speaking his line, which was not a guarantee with this boy, so that was an added bonus.

And now that I've seen the show I shouldn't have been worried if he'd fluff his lines - some parents had to smile on as their children spontaneously shouted or threw themselves around being screaming, crying nightmares. Mine was a wee smasher.

In the run up to it he'd been pretending to me that he thought his line was: 'far away some wise monkeys lived in a tree' (when it fact it was 'faraway some wise men saw a special star'). I was quite excited to find out which way he was going to go with it, but it turns out at 3 1/2 - he's a conformist. Ah well, plenty of time to punk about with his school plays.

He made this Mummy very, very proud indeed.
