Good Times
We had a "messy play" day today. In the morning, Elizabeth and I made some chocolate crispy cakes.
I put a sheet on the floor and we sat down there to make the cakes, which was much easier than her trying to sit at the table comfortably.
From the moment I put the box of crispies on the floor, she started helping herself. She didn't even know that there was chocolate coming!
She loved it, had great fun and thought the cakes were "delicious". Although she had to have one before they were set, which was rather messy.
In the afternoon we put big sheets of paper out on the kitchen floor, on top of the sheet. She got to play with her paint pens, splashed them about a bit and got lots on her hands and clothes. Then she decided it was more fun to just walk on the paper. And later in the afternoon she discovered hiding under the sheet, which had her in fits of laughter.
It was a lovely "Elizabeth" day. She didn't nap at all, and didn't need it.
She even told her daddy all about making the cakes when she spoke to him on the phone, which was the longest phone conversation she's had to date.
