I'll Have A Blue and White Christmas
Old Main is one of Penn State's top administrative buildings. Every year just before Christmas, a tree is decorated in blue and white (Penn State's school colors) and placed in the lobby of Old Main.
Behind the Christmas tree, stair steps ascend into the frescoes painted by Henry Varnum Poor in the 1940s. (Do you see Abraham Lincoln at the top, with his outstretched arm reaching out from behind the pillar by the tree?)
Tucked in behind the tree and just to its right is a bust of former President Atherton.
But what caught my eye was the way the shiny floor reflects those glistening blue balls and white lights on the tree.
