Red berries in winter.

News from Mount Washington Observatory. "Temperatures so far this month have trended well above average, and the mountain remains almost completely free of ice and snow. Observer and meteorologist Brian Clark explains that the prolonged warm streak is caused by a persistent high positioned to our southeast, which is cycling warm air up from the south. However, he notes that activity in the polar regions of our atmosphere indicates "a potential change in patterns" for later this month. Translation: Real winter is coming!" ~

Today in Halifax, a high of 53 degrees F is predicted. We are really enjoying it too. I don't know just how much snow we had received by this time last year.

I follow the Mount Washington Observatory. It's fascinating to see pictures in winter. The observatory has an extreme weather tour experience, when folk can stay on top of the mountain in winter. You have to have a weekend to spare as once you are up there, you have to stay!
