run-up.....19...getting ready...

....love them or hate them.....the sprout has been part of the traditional Christmas dinner for a long time...the 1st records of sprouts eaten at Christmas is 1587.....

I bought these yesterday at the farmers market from an old farmer...with gnarled hands...who had cut them himself....they will taste better knowing that.....

maybe Mrs DD...(HF) likes more than one on her plate if they're served with a bit of bokeh....:0) ???

found this poem on S M Quenton 's bloodspot..it's only the first verse...

Sprouts

Meek, serried ranks
of huddled sprouts
drooping under snow
await in twilight
the knives of cutters,
massive blokes stout in layered coats
thick boots and woolly hats.
