Waiting for you.
This morning we drove to Gelnbranter, on icy roads, to pick our Christmas Tree.
Glenbranter House was one of Sir Harry Lauder's former homes , though the building no longer exists. He leased land to the Foresrty Commission in 1921 - at the very start of the Commission's work- and they built a forestry village. It is now part of the Argyll Forest Park and one of the locations where the Commission sells Christmas Trees each year.
On both Christmases when I was Enviornment Minister I had to do a pre-season photo call for the Christmas Tree sales and did them at Glenbranter . The first involved Santa hats, elves and chainsaws and the pictures still surface from time to time!
This year there seemed to be a lot of trees still for sale, though they are available until Friday. So do go along - you also get a free cup of tea and a mince pie.
