Owl Encounter - Chez's Birthday

It was Chez's birthday today, and I finally got to take her on a 'Two Hour Owl Encounter' in a villlage near by. I booked it ages ago and have been looking forward to it for weeks! It's an experience where you get to find out all about owls and birds of prey, hold them and fly them.

We flew 4 birds, a hawk named Jake, a Screech Owl named Gizmo, a Scops owl named Esme and finally a large Eagle owl.

It was so amazing - the birds were so well trained. We held some food for them and they flew from a perch onto our glove. We even got to stroke them, they are so soft!

After our time with the owls we went into the village for something to eat before going home.

We've both had an awesome day :)

Blip: This is the tiny Scops owl, called Esme. She only weighs six and a half ounces!
