tree!

We're quite late putting our tree up* but up it is now: a quick trip to Jamesfield (just along the road from us) and some fine adjustment with a hatchet and the tree is up. As a precaution against +3/3 pulling the tree over (he's just started pulling up and can crawl amazingly quickly) it's also tied to the bannister spindles...

The children decorate the tree every year and made a great job of it again this year; not too much, not too little. Goldilocks tree.

Now to see if we can get into the festive spirit, what with the pine aroma from the tree filling the house (and of course the mince pies, stollen, cake, panettone, ...)

* we've always put our tree up a week before and leave it up until the 6th January; it just seems late as there were quite a few trees going up on the 1st...
