Day 18 - my shoes
My stinking old Uggs actually.
4 years ago, a month before Christmas, the day before Little One's 3rd b'day which was also payday, with a 6 week old baby to contend with, me and the other half both got made redundant with no notice, no pay and a MASSIVE loan to pay which represented a significant investment in the business that had just gone under. Still paying it. Bah.
Merry Christmas, Happy Birthday. Don't panic. In fact do panic. Lots.
It all sorted itself out a couple of weeks later when very clever husband found a new job, but wow, it scared the life out of me for a bit.
My lovely mum bought me these Uggs for Xmas that year as I'd been coveting them and clearly could no longer afford them - what with the mortgage being more of a priority and all! They came all the way from Australia in the post as they were cheaper that way and I had to wait what felt like an age.
They are filthy, wearing thin on the toes and have worn away on the soles so now I slip over at the slightest hint of a damp pavement. Doesn't stop me putting them on regularly though. I do love them so.
