Aniseed twist tree

It was sleeting this afternoon when we went out in the car (over the border to Belgium for CHIPS and petrol), but it cleared up quickly and we parked the car and went for a lovely walk in the Gorp area.

I spotted this tree, which reminded me of a sweetie from my youth!
