We took ourselves across the border into Northumberland and visited Alnwick Garden today. The children had a great time running across the rope bridges and through the water jets and Nick and I were able to have a relatively quiet wander through the gardens. It's a great place for families, the bonus being that you do not have to pay for children. We ended the day sharing a bag of chips on the beach near Bamburgh and returned home with sand between our toes ready for bed.
