RIP AFC 1903 - 20??

After the protest last weekend when a mock coffin was paraded to Pittodrie, Aberdeen won a couple of games, but the fans are still not happy. Spotted this coffin lid outside the Press & Journal / Evening Express shop on Union Street, Aberdeen this afternoon - it was dark, so in case you can't read it here's the text :

"RIP A.F.C. 1903 - 20??

NOTICE OF IMPENDING DEATH

In the Evening Express office, the League Cup was displayed in 1946 in the branch office at the top of Union Street.

The team sat down to sign autographs for the queue of fans here.

It was Aberdeen's first national trophy.

Then in 1947, the Scottish Cup came to Pittodrie for the first time.

The club had a special medal struck for Willie Cooper who played 21 seasons for Aberdeen with little reward in the first half of the 20th Century.

What will they say of the players in the first half of the 21st century?

A culture of assumed entitlement and mismanagement where no attempt has been made to reinforce the values and culture which had that medal struck for Willie Cooper - a stalwart fo the club and highly respected by the fans."
