Early today the expedition officially kicked off with a bus trip across the Patagonian plains from El Calafate to El Chalten.

El Chalten will be our base for the next 4 nights and we will do a series of day walks under the peaks of Cerro Fitzroy and Cerro Torre. First impressions of the Patagonian landscape are that is simply stunning with a great mix of vivid green vegetation and wild, lunar rock landscapes.

The group is made up of 13 Aussies / Brits / Americans / Canadians / Swiss and an Argentian guide called Gustavo.

Last but not least they do a mean pastry!
