About Alps & Elephants

We all know Hannibal, the Carthaginian.
He crossed the Western Alps with thousands of Soldiers and 37 Elephants more then 2200 Years ago.

The first Elephant crossing the much higher Central Alps (Brenner pass) was "Suleiman", a royal present from Madrid to Vienna ("Vienna's first Elephant").
In January 1552 he probably passed exactly this road. And for sure he had the same beautiful weather!
