We met at Maya, the delicious expanse of low beamed wood constituting out chalet for our staff breakfast to progress straight into another day of training. Today we grappled with the local geography which at the moment, I can't seem to be able to decipher one snow dumped round about from another. But the area makes up six immediate skiing playgrounds, all very helpfully sprawled out + at the top of seemingly vertical ice ridden roads, which we'll be driving vast numbers of guests to . But we were doing it in a snow storm, the wrong way round, so this should be interesting! The favourite part of the day for me, however, was the wood delivery. Elated to get a physical graft on for an hour shifting blocks of timber for our huge fire place, and a temporary engagement with the blue jobs , was quite a thrill to a simple girl like me. Or perhaps what topped this Wednesday officially, was when a pro masseuse came by to give all the staff teaser treatments so that we'd plug them to our clients. Shameful marketing ploy perhaps, but I certainly wasn't judging when my knee was getting kneaded like a whimpering ball of Peppakakor dough and my back like a fragmented + broken spring-ed mattress. I felt like walking on skis up the mountain then and there, beneath the moonlight and up to the peak, to begin a dream inducing descent, where my mischievously previously damaged knee all of a sudden repaired + supple, would guide + glide me down through the waste high powder back to the valley below, drowned in a white spectacle of winter.
