Mad but Happy World.
We had a grand day today. Did some errands this morning, and then an afternoon out with the oldest, bessiest mate. Strolling out and avoiding dog poo in the local country park. Pleasant indeed, the company that is, not the dog poo.
Then onto my little brothers because it's his 38th birthday. Happy Birthday Chris! He told me to detour home so we would pass these two houses. All decorated for charity. They looked fabulous.
Thank you for all the lovely comments about my Nan yesterday. The visit was hilarious really. My nan is lovely, and happy. She did ask my Dad how his mum was, which set me off giggling.
Then we were joined by another inmate poor old dear, who had just tried to batter one of the carers in the bathroom. She was swearing so much, names and words, even I hadn't heard. Really wound up and agitated.
So, yeah, she sat next to me, cos I attract sane people and just stared at me, with such an angry face. My nan smiled and said "I think she's one of them". Righty O. Sensing my fear, Dad suggested it was time to go. Too right. We took my Nan back to her room. My new best mate came too, clutching my arm, still staring at me. I was getting a bit frightened to be honest. I've enough friends and most of them are a bit crazy, I can't cope with another . We showed Nan to her room, said goodbye and turned to go back to the exit, at this point, my BF stood still and raised her arm. Oh no, I'm going to be hit I thought. She lifted her arm, and held out her palm. Making contact with my cheek ..... Whilst stroking my cheek ....
"You have a lovely arm" she said.
I know I'm joking about something horrid and serious, Alzheimers is no fun for the ones on the outside looking on. But the sufferer is unaware and meeting new friends every day has got to be a bonus, nice arms or not.
