Legacy? What Legacy?

Conservative-controlled Horsham District Council thinks the best way of marking 2012 as Olympic year is to demolish our sports and lesiure centre (including the only indoor running track in a 50 mile radius) and sell off the land to a developer for the construction of a retail superstore. They appear to be baffled as to why the local populace are a bit peeved.

Tonight they will be ratifying the decision at a council meeting - unless their opinions have been swayed by this demonstration outside.

Personally I haven't felt the need for anything more taxing than a brisk walk in the last twenty years, but even I can see that this proposal makes no sense. Also the leisure centre is home to the theatre company of which I am a member. Rehearsal space, scenery workshop, props storage and a huge costume wardrobe gathered over the 50 plus years the company has been performing - all to be scrapped if HDC have their way.
