It`s art Jim

Had some sad news this morning so as I always do, I gravitate to the Cathedral to light a candle and say a prayer.
On the way back I found two wonderful shops...the first was Mollys on St Martins opposite the old bank.It`s a small cafe that does fabulous Illy coffee, sumptous soups and sandwiches and it`s dead reasonable...give it a try if you are shopping in Leicester. It`s off the main drag so doesn`t get rammed either.
The other shop was in St Martins Square, opened fairly recently by some art and design students from DMU who want to showcase their designs. From quirky jewellery, beautiful and very unusual clothes and wall art. This is a sculpture made from folded paper used as a light shade. The sad news is that if they can`t keep paying the business rates, they will have to close, so much for the council wanting to bring new business to the city centre when they don`t give them reduced rates to help get them started.
