PUNISHMENT BEYOND BELIEF

What's this your showing us Portyman I hear you cry, well I will tell you, it's a business card holder, but not just any card holder, it's made from the skin of William Burke's left hand(honestly) , he's the fella of the infamous 1820's Edinburgh double act Burke & Hare (Bodysnatchers.com).
His skeleton is also held at the Royal college surgeons in Edinburgh which was part of punsihment, his body never to be laid to rest.His partner turned Queens evidence and left Edinburgh never to be heard of again.
This strange and gruesome artifact is on show at the Police information centre in the High st Edinburgh and is open all year round along with other museum pieces showing Policing in Edinburgh over the years, well worth a shufty.
