Soon to open
We are great fans of amaryllis plants in this house and we keep them from year to year. It's quite a challenge because they are ungainly and large for months on end. The glorious flowers make up for it.
This is an apple blossom amaryllis. It was the first one to be set off this year and has already had 4 large flowers. This is the second bud.
I "borrowed" the idea for this blip from one or two I've seen recently and liked. This was taken in natural light from the window and the plant was standing a few inches in front of a black material drape. I've included the hint of a leaf on the right because I think it gives the context and provides a little framing.
I'm properly awake today; all effects of the sedation have worn off.
Boilermen came - boiler still on the blink. Parcel force came, without the parcels we expected and a delivery man who hopes he won't be coming back tomorrow. Very bah humbug!!
Lots of lovely letters and cards to enjoy.
