Sunshine over the Great Orme
Belting along the A55 today with nothing special to blip due to rubbish dull light everywhere, when I looked backwards and saw teh Great Orme covered in wonderful sunshine and everywhere else dull and in shadow.
Obviously couldn't blip it doing 70 on a dual carridgeway - looking backwards with 2 hands on the camera (apparently the cops don't approve) so accelerated and shot off at Penmaenmawr and desperatly wound my way down to the front. Every time I caught a glimpse of the sea a huge black shadow was sweeping towards the mountain.
This was the first shot I got when I got to the sea front - everything set on auto to get a quick shot. Several other better composed and/or exposed shots later but the shadow was quickly swallowing up the land!
I have no idea where the light was coming from as there was almost no blue sky around!
Best theory is that, as this is midwinter solstice day (it was about 5:30 this morning) the druids were conducting an ancient rite on the top which generated its own light from within the mountain - probably lots of sacrificing of goats and chickens and dancing around naked - or maybe that was just a dream??
Apolgies to any real druids!
