Polished my boots today. Look how lovely and red they are.
Also went to Jez and sam's for dinner. Mr Nut has done that annoying thing he is habitually doing these days of expressing love for things when they are out of earshot. When granny leaves he tells me 'I LOVE GRANNY'. Likewise he tells me 'I LOVE him!' of his reversible postman pat/jess the cat toy he got as a present. Actually he only loves Jess, he forgot pat and jess were the same toy and had a mild panic attack because we'd forgotten the cat.

Personally I was disappointed because I had misheard Sam and thought he was getting a postman pat that turned into Jez. It seemed a very specific niche market but I would deffo like to see pat sporting an afro.

'hold on tight, Jess!' he wails cutely, as we go round the corner. Yet what do I get when he is in earshot of other people?

'hermit bird?' I ask 'Are you sure you don't mean hermit crab? '
'no. Hermit bird'
'Does it have a shell?' I ask
'yes!' he replies gleefully. 'With a crab in it!'
