Watching the sauerkraut ferment!

Somedays, that's about the most excitement we get around here. Today, had to work at the yarn shop, tomorrow also. So, it's been too busy to go blip hunting. So, we're watching the sauerkraut ferment. Started this batch yesterday, so it will be ready in about four weeks. The label says "pure kraut," which is just shredded cabbage and salt. I've tried adding various things, like apples, wine, caraway seeds, celery seeds, dill seeds and charnuska. But I found we like the "pure" version the best. It has a very squeaky crunch, a fresh, bright taste, and is addictive! So, that's what I'm doing now--just cabbage and salt.
