Heat

More work on K's project. Should have been packing for camping trip, but I got some bolts on the way home and had to see if they fitted....obviously this led naturally to trying to remove pedals from cranks seized with 70 years of gunge! Having tried several failed attempted (with a Raleigh spanner), decided EG would have a better selection of spanners and larger hammers. Indeed EG does have a fine selection of tools & associated hitting things, in the process of moving his workshop (the pedal wouldn't shift) we managed to break his Raleigh spanner from his 1981 Little Rider (sorry, they weren?t designed to have a 3 foot piece of pipe attached were they!). Anyhow, a good Mousaka and Old Speckled Hen later we hit on the idea of heat (isn't that what proper fitters do!!!) Guess what, it worked. Great news that means tomorrow I can be distracted by fitting the cranks rather than packing!
