everybody say 'cheese'...
Arlo is now officially 2 months old. Realising that this mighty landmark had been reached I decided it was time to tidy up his bedroom (yes - the old spare bedroom which used to be a dumping ground, then we got our fingers out of our bottoms and decorated it and made it nice for Boyface's arrival and now it has become a dumping ground again - only for less dirty stuff than before. And by dirty I mean muddy, not saucy).
These are all of Arlo's new chums (actually, there's 3 in there that are mine and 2 more that should have gone there but I forgot them) and at last they have been lined up neatly and tidily - each one sitting patiently, waiting for the grubby hand of destiny to choose them as the favourite toy.
I wonder which one it will be? I am hoping it will be Hugo because he looks like a womble and has a cool jumper. We've got a while yet - these guys will have to wait for quite a while before Arlo even knows they exist.
I'm trying to introduce toys to him now as he's focussing really well and I am pretty sure he's attempting to touch things. Yesterday I wrapped his little fingers round the rattle that my mum brought him back from Greece and waited to see what would happen. Arlo stared at me, did a smile/cry and then promptly bonked himself on the head with it so I am going to have to change my game plan here.
I'm trying not to be bothered that when we went to visit one of our friends yesterday (who had C Beebies on), Arlo lay transfixed looking at the telly, kicking his legs and making really funny noises at it. No telly for him just now. No way.
Talking of which - ours is broken and you wouldn't BELIEVE the amount of housework I got done today as a result.
Oh god, I can't believe I said that. I'm outta here
