A few weeks ago I blipped the first Christmas cake I've ever baked. I marzipanned it (that was trickier than I'd expected) and it's been sitting quietly behaving itself ever since.

Today I decided it was time to reacquaint myself with the art of making royal icing. Thank heaven for electric whisks, that's what I say.
