Saligo Bay, Islay

This is probably the best beach in the world.

The rocks at the top of this picture are to be found at the north end of Saligo Bay, on Islay's Atlantic west coast. It is a beautiful and secluded part of Islay, at any time of year, and my favourite place on this planet.

But a note of caution: if you plan to paddle around in the water, be prepared to lose the feeling in your feet. It's cold.
