Santa's Little Helper?

Well for some the day has arrived already, but for most of us the countdown is well and truly on. I visited my friend reversepolarity today to deliver a few gifts for his wee boy, Ewan. He was on top form, being both little monkey and little dear. Don't be fooled, that bauble is coming off the tree, or the tree is coming down!!!

For me Christmas represents all that is good. A time for giving, for sharing, for reconciliation and joy! A time to be spent with loved ones and friends and to remember those no longer with us, but who remain dear in our hearts. It is a time to call to mind those who have touched our lives, friendships of long standing or newly made, both near and far and to send messages of love and thanks to each and every one. But above all, it's a celebration of humanity, wrapped up in the innocence and wonder of a child opening a gift on Christmas morning.

This is my first Crimbo on blip. The joy this little cyber place has given in the past four months is immeasurable and I owe you all a debt for your friendship over that time. I hope with all my heart that you and those you love most in this world have the most wondrous Christmastime ever. x

For me, there is one song which embodies the spirit of Christmas more than any other. I'm not religious myself and so this aspect of the holidays has no hold on me. The universal message of this tune can be seen by who have covered it. From jazz to rock, old to young, the range of artists is eclectic. Just Google it and see for yourself. The version here takes me back to the Crimbo CD that has seen me through this year's build up, Sarah McLachlan's Wintersong. The message is a simple one. Have yourself a merry little Christmas.
