Sayornis nigricans

Went for a solo bird walk at the Arcata Marsh & Wildlife Sanctuary this morning. Found this Black Phoebe sallying for flies from a perch along the edge of a pond. I watched it for about 45 minutes. What a gorgeous bird--Merry Christmas to me.
