Who knew there was so much preparation involved in Christmas?! I can't help feeling that being at work would be more relaxing

This is the first year I've 'hosted' Christmas - I'm only cooking for 7 and getting help from everyone but I had no idea it was so...I'm finding it difficult to think of the right word - it's not stressful but it's...time consuming? busy? relentless?
I have an even deeper respect for my poor mum - she's been doing it for years without complaint. Maybe it just takes a lot of practice - the important thing is I refuse to get stressed or anxious; the last thing I want is to be one of those hosts that's smiling through gritted teeth whilst everyone else daren't breathe for fear of upset - even if everything goes wrong, surely nothing is worth that?

Still loads to do - best get on with it!
