Uch Sharif
The next day we left Multan and headed to Uch Sharif, which if a very famous Muslim location in the Sub-Continent. Centuries ago Muslim Saints came and settled in Uch Sharif and from here Islam was spread ...
My ancestors (from centuries ago) also belonged to Uch Sharif and their Mausoleum is still present here. Our way of life and religion has drastically changed over centuries but it still feels good to touch base with your roots.
After visiting Uch Sharif, which is a small village now, we went to someone's farm house for a relaxing Lunch after which we went to Bahawalpur to visit Noor Mahal. Now, this is where the story shifts from Saints to Nawabs. Bahawalpur was a princely state run by the Nawabs. The Nawabs are no more in power but have left a legacy behind them. An interesting fact I found out was that the last ruling Nawab was married to the sister of Queen Victoria of England. I need to do a bit more research on that.
Later at night, we went to the bazaars which were closing, so after dinner we went to the hotel and slept like logs.
