Bright Angel
While we enjoy the festivities of Christmas, outside of our house rain falls, the river flows, clouds drift overhead and the vegetation is wet.
A fallen tree lies on the ground in the wet forest of Bright Angel Park, Cowichan Station, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.
William John Hardy (Jack) Fleetwood, a lifetime Cowichan Valley resident, along with his wife Mabel Fleetwood, donated 4.13ha of land to the government in 1958 for park use. Jack, an Irish Catholic, strongly believed in guardian angels and named the park in honor of these guiding spirits. Jack was a well respected business owner, as well as a writer. He wrote many poems inspired by the natural beauty of Bright Angel Park. (CVRD)
