to my bones

let the road trip begin!

so off we went. slowest Finn on earth and German efficiency in the same car :p

not that early as we planned but at ten, quite early still :p we packed the car full of mattresses, blankets, pillows, bags, water, toilet paper and other useful stuff that you might need on the road :p

first thing was to catch the ferry from Doolin to Aran Islands at one. We made it, but there was no ferry as they don't go during the winter at all as it is too windy. Maybe it was good because Sebastian got seasick only because of the Irish small roads :p he was a bit sick otherwise also, flue etc. so we rested for a while before continuing. As Marcin would say, the only mistake that one can do in a holiday is to hurry, so we chilled :) After a brake everything was good again and we went around the harbour to see the place anyways. We met some people who were searching for a body as someone had jumped off from the cliffs.. that's sad. I hope they found the body..

After going around in Doolin, we decided to head to Burren National Park. And the fun started :D I guess we went through all the smallest places in Ireland. We first went to Corofin. It looks like a big place in the map, but they don't even have ATM :D but they had yummy tummy so we got some food and pharmacy with a nice nurse so Sebastian got some medicin also to feel better. Well at that point it was already just dark because the clock was around 4-5pm. We decided still to go and find Burren so that we could sleep somewhere close and go there first in the morning. Well we for some reason wanted to go some really small shady lane, maybe mind searching for some adventures, that was so scary and so dark that we just had to see where it was going :D actually we thought that it was a small road to Gort but I tell you, it wasn't :D Suddenly, there was a fence with sign "Private Property" so we needed to turn the car and go back. Didn't work like we planned but we got stuck there and that was the point when we remembered that few km ago there was a sign "road flooded" and now we got the point :D There had been floods since few days and the soil was just so wet.. so we were stuck. After 10-15min trying to get out from there some old nice Irish guy came with a car there and mumbled smth about helping and jumped to the car to try also. Didn't work so he took rope from the car and tried to pull but that didn't work either. He mumbled smth more about waiting and tractor and after 2min we heard a tractor voice and there he came back with a small really old blue tractor :D he tied the rope back to the car and tractor and the car just flew back to the road :D damn that was a great old small blue tractor haha :D And that is so amazing! You get stuck to the middle of nowhere, I really mean that, and you just need to wait for 10min and there is an old nice irish guy with a funny hat mumbling smth funny and helping you :D that was unbelievable. We were so deep in nowhere that we saw the milkyway in the sky while waiting for the old man and tractor, that was nice :) Anyways, we didn't have anything to give for him to thank him except then I remembered that I have a bag of Salmiakki with me so I gave that to him :D hope he liked it, thank you a lot old funny guy!

Then he showed us the way to Boston and so we continued the way. Haha, we found Boston, and for sure it's not the same Boston as in USA :D This Boston was a one way street with four houses haha :DD but that was so cute and for us it looked like a place to eat ice cream so we took out our Ben & Jerry friend with some Fairy Nuts and enjoyed that there. Still under stars, you could see everything cause it was so in nowhere :D funny!

Well we didn't want to just stay there, the clock was only 7.30 so we checked the map, tried to find Gort, missed the signs and decided to head to Ballyvaughn as Sebastian had read an article about some pub that you should visit while being in Ireland. So we went to Ballyvaugn and surprisingly it was a damn small town :D We didn't remember the name of the pub so Sebastian decided to ask one of his friends (random people walking in the streets) "where would be some pub called O´whatever?" and they straight away knew that we were looking for O'Loclainns :D so it was easy to find! And one really should visit this place if going to Ireland. It was so small, nice pub, full of atmosphere, no other customers than us and one happy old singing man behind the bar :D he was so cute I wanted to hug him! He even let us to come to behind the bar desk to pour our pints :D that was so cool! He was such a nice gentleman and told us places what we could see in the morning. That was one of my happy moments during the trip :>

As we went back to the car we saw a map on the street and it included all the places that we went through on that day. And funnyly we noticed that we had made a big circle, going just around in one part of Ireland :D haha! we had a plan but it is flexible plan now. I guess it's illegal in Ireland so I didn't mention this but as we didn't have plan for the accomodation and we arrived to Ballyvaughn by suprise so late we decided to sleep in the car. I tell you, it was pure adventure the whole day and as we say with my friend "if it's comfy, then it's not and adventure". But actually it was really comfy in the car with all the mattresses and blankets and pillows haha :D great craic!
