Christmas!

What a day!

Jack woke up at a respectable 8:30 this morning, which was nice!! He came in to our room, excited to go downstairs.

He saw all of the presents under the tree and couldn't believe they could all be for him, although we really didn't get too much. He got some Matchbox cars, Legos, a couple of games, a book and a police truck that lights up. And of course, he got his drums! He was pretty excited to see them and started playing them immediately as soon as Daddy got them set up! He is so good with rhythm, I know that the drums will be perfect for him. He was playing the beat to a few songs within a few minutes of trying the drums out...the first was the theme song to Godzilla (The cartoon version from the 70's), then he moved on to a song by Iron Maiden....yes, he loves Iron Maiden, Pink Floyd, System of a Down, Ozzy, and many other rock/heavy metal bands!!

We went to Marks parents first for lunch and more presents, then headed down to my familys for dinner and even more presents!! Although it was really nice seeing family and spending Christmas together, I felt bad for Jack. All of these presents, and he really had no time to spend playing them! When we got home for the night, it was already 11 p.m., well past Jacks bedtime, and all he wanted was to open some of the gifts up. I had to explain that tomorrow we'll be able to spend the entire day playing and checking everything out, but he needed to get some sleep!

Now it's time for bed for us too....a long day, but a nice one.

Jack said, "Today was the best day ever!!!" as I tucked him in tonight!
