Otira Valley in Summer
We spent a very interesting day wandering up the Otira Valley, at the northern end of the Southern Alps, in Arthur's Pass National Park. This photo is at the head of the valley, at about 1400 metres. The weather was warm, with a light breeze. We photographed flowers, listened to the water flowing down the valley, scrambled across lots of scree and boulders, and cooled our faces with handfuls of snow. A great way to spend Boxing Day!
There are more photos of the Otira Valley on my blog here.
