Late Poppy

My poppies are nearly finished. Most years they would have been done by now, but the prolonged gloomy conditions have been keeping them going. We do get sunshine for a while in the middle of the day, and it is very fierce. This one came up among the bronze tussock.

My hopes of seeing Comet Lovejoy are fading fast. I look out every night around 3-3.30 am, but there is always fog.
