The Edge of the Wold

Woollies and woodies

I guess most of us have Christmas decorations that have special memories and associations for us. But Wifie seems to have more than most. This is part of the Christmas tree standing in our hall, which is decorated with what we call the woollies and woodies. The woolly decorations were donated to the Hospice of St Mary in Ulverston from where Wifie bought them, the latest acquisition was the least seasonal, a little agaric toadstool. The woody decorations have come from trips abroad, Christmas in Sweden and winter in Prague. The star was given to her by someone special whom Wifie helped during her illness.

Another relaxing day today, and as you can see I'm still seeing double after the fine red wine yesterday. We did manage a walk over Arnside Knott in the afternoon. The day was grey but free of rain, and in the afternoon the sun made a brief showing.
