The Christmas tree

When I was growing up, a Christmas tree wasn't a part of the Christmas traditions in my home. But ever since our first Christmas together, me and my husband have always had a pretty tree in our living room during the holidays. In fact I like it very much, because it brings some small part of Nature with it (well, at least for a few days, until it starts to dry all up).

Until last year we had two cats, and the male loved drinking water from the tree "foot" and just relaxing there, under the tree. But just before Christmas last year, he got sick and died on December the 23rd. We have been thinking about him a lot during those last days. Even if he could be rather naughty at times, he was such a lively and loving creature and we miss him a lot.
