Winter Tan-Cat

Head torch & 3 spare batteries charged and ready for the next three days & 2 nights walking. A small group of four of us are tackling the "Winter Tan-Cat", the Longest Pub Crawl in England which is about 120 miles between the two highest pubs in the country.

Starting Wednesday morning from the highest pub in England, Tan Hill Inn in North Yorkshire, we'll head south over all the hills we can find in the Pennines. If all goes well or, at least according to plan, we will reach the Cat & Fiddle around Friday lunchtime.

This walk has only been completed once in winter. In 1980 another small group from the Rucksack Club were successful after abandoning an earlier attempt. If an adventure needs to have some uncertainty then this qualifies.
