Crows and chruches

Why is it that crows always seem to congregate near churches.

I went for a went for a walk on the sand dunes today and all I seemed to see were crows looking shifty and most of them were near Lelant church. This one in particular had a shifty look in his eye, I am sure he was after my wallet !
