A lazy blip

Yes, it's a lazy blip.

I am, strangely enough, really rather upset by some sad news... Our very favourite restaurant, "Willy Pa's", burned down two nights ago. I couldn't believe it, so I drove there to see. It's sadly true...

Funny. Way back when we lived in Holland, I wouldn't have blinked twice at the news of a restaurant burning down over Christmas. But now all I can think of is that lovely owner, who worked so hard and made us feel more than welcome, every time we visited. I guess it goes with living in a small community. Even people that you don't really know personally feel like dear friends...

We will have to learn to live without one of the two really good restaurants, I guess... Poor Malachy.

The blip? Well, we have owls, so people assume we collect owl ornaments, which we don't really, btw. But I often get given them as presents. These are among my favourites. It was AGAIN too dark a day to take a blip of our real birds.
