Nature's fairy lights

The week between Christmas Day and New Year is always a bit flat I find - a melancholy time. It is, after all, the dimming of the year.

Today saw me playing dutiful daughter and plodding round the supermarket with my mum. It actually wasn't too bad though I suspect that the High Streets will have been teeming again. Later on I tried to persuade my mum that downloading books onto her new Kindle is easy. Not sure I succeeded!

My parents' house is bordered by a strip of woodland, which is why there are so many birds on the feeders. Currently the sun is rising and setting on the other side of the wood. Liked the effect on this one - just like a string of fairy lights.
