Showtime

More wind today, that plus the angle onto the beach meant fewer kite surfers than yesterday.

More wind means more speed and the bigger the wipe out. As one who used to wind surf avidly I know how that feels (mostly adrenaline overcomes pain ;-)

I wanted to capture more of the sense of speed and the feel of being in control yet a mere gust or couple of degrees shift in wind from disaster.

In I waded while Mum walked and I kept an occasional eye on her. I was spoiled for choice and it was hard to choose. I love my mountains but I really am a northern sea girl at heart.

Just the usual in what has become my pattern over the past days - run, then breakfast out with Mum and Dad, more coffee, a few errands with Mum, read, Nana-naps then down to the beach with Mum. Just one more full day. I'm trying not to think about returning to Christchurch, just staying in the moment.

Dinner is at my brother and sister in laws tonight. Sister in law Jude has cooked wild pork (instructions from moi ;-) I have veges to cook and a bottle of wine to collect from the fridge and we're off.

Better scoot.
