Ruins of Markle castle

S and I went under the railway near East Linton school, then against a VERY strong wind all the way to these ruins and beyond, before turning at the railway crossing at Markle Steadings and then getting the wind behind us till we got home. When the kids were wee there was a bridge over the railway near the ruins and we went there fairly often - but that was before the electrification of the East Coast railway line
