No-Man's Land
is where I finally found these red Hartebeest. I tried to discreetly follow them but they knew I was there. I got a few photos before they vanished into the trees and Gia found me. She was not happy that I had left her behind, squeezed through the gate and tracked me down. I gave up on the antelope and walked Gia home. She was well-behaved without her lead.
We have many open areas between the houses on our estate and the antelope are free to roam. I know this is not a very clear photo but it was one of the better ones and I liked the reflection. (A recurring fascination of mine). The Hartebeest are one of the larger antelope and are about the size of a pony!
It was housekeeping day. I gave the house a good cleaning and started on the washing and ironing. I don't mind the washing and ironing but I really hate mopping the floor!
By 5pm my house was full of children. We have 3 sleeping over for two nights and so that makes 6 children in total. One is nearly 10 and the other 5 are between 14 and 16.
Mr G is busy with the Braai (BBQ) and we should have a delicious and noisy supper tonight.
I love these lazy days between Christmas and New Year. They feel like a No-Man's Land before reality hits again in January!
